New Chief of Staff: ‘It’s an insult to suggest me as Abba Kyari’s replacement’ – Isa Funtua

A close ally of president Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Isa Funtua give reasons why he cannot replace the seat of the late Abba kyari as the president's chief of staff,

saying it is an insult to his own personality. He also said that the appointments of chief of staff should be for young people not to his age mates.

The elders statesman said he should be the one employing people and not struggling for government appointments.

(referring to a BBC journalist)"even if they offer me the president, you know i can't serve at this my age for God sake, you mean at this my age, i should be waking up

around 8am to go to work. Haba, i am way passed that lifestyle, it's for young people, stop making caricature of public offices, simply because of the sake of getting

appointments" He said.

I heard people mentioning me as a replacement to Abba Kyari but I take the story as an insult instead. I have worked with the government in the 80's, worked with white

men and also as a minister of federal republic.

For someone to mention my name for that position is an insult especially for a man who served as a minister nearly 40 years ago and out of government.
